Green Schools Committee: Working Together for a Greener School! The Green Schools Committee is on a mission to help our school become cleaner and more environmentally aware. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during lunchtime, committee members help by picking up litter around the yard. They also spread the message of not littering by making and sharing fun posters around the school. The Green Schools Committee has some exciting plans for the coming months, and here’s what we’ve got in store:
1. Using Recycling Bins the Right Way
The Green Schools Committee is asking everyone to help use recycling bins correctly. They will make posters to remind students and staff about what goes in each bin. We’ll also encourage everyone to bring their lunch wrappers home instead of throwing them away at school.
To make sure everyone is doing their part, the Green Schools Committee will check the bins regularly and see if people are recycling the right way.
2. Biodiversity Week: May 19th – May 23rd, 2025
During Biodiversity Week, we’ll learn all about the plants and animals that make our world so special. The Green Schools Committee will provide fun activities and ideas to help everyone understand how important it is to take care of nature.
3. Scoot to School Week: June 9th – June 13th2025
Scoot to School Week is a national event to encourage kids to stay active and be kind to the planet. The Green Schools Committee will be cheering everyone on to scoot, walk, or cycle to school. Not only will this help the environment, but it’s also a great way to get fit and have fun.
We’re excited about all the fun things coming up and can’t wait for everyone to get involved. Together, we can help make our school cleaner, greener, and a better place for everyone.
